Backstory

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2008. It was caught early. Aggressive bilateral mastectomy was the choice. My concern was the lack of a cohesive focus to find a cure. I wanted a definitive course, I wanted strong leadership, I wanted to know the solution. So, I did what any normally crazy supportive co-survivor would do... enlisted for an ironman. First Brick

Well, tonite marked the first brick of the year. For those of you new to the sport, a brick is combining more then one of the disciplines in the event. In this case, bicycling (1 hour) and running (30 min). Nothing like trying to get legs to turn over after a hill ride. Heart rate hung out at 140 for the ride and 150 for the run. Lot of riders out today (69 and sunny). Overall, positive experience... that and hanging a glass/screen storm door for the family. Cameron thinks its cool to have two doors, Skip can now see the street without laying on a bed, and Lesly enjoys the sunshine. All in all, a positive weekend.

You realize the quality of instruction-writers in this world when you really have to do something that you have never done before. In this case a Larson and poor. One of those things you say 'wait until next time' and then hope their will not be one.

"well the cool breeze came on tueday, and the corns a bumper crop. And the fields are full of dancin full of singin and romancin. the music never stopped"
