Made the trip to Florida for a few days with some good training runs. Went very well with the best result being an 8:45 mile for 14.6 miles. Continuing to try and build mileage. Went on a brief run this AM back in Iowa... very different. The body really couldn't make the adjustment from 80 degrees to 40 degrees without some challenges. Still made it around the horn.
Going to try and bike train tomorrow with a racing group called HBA. Tried to catch them last time and missed, will give it a go tomorrow.
Posts should begin with regularity, feel refreshed and ready to create some hype with this event.
Backstory
My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2008. It was caught early. Aggressive bilateral mastectomy was the choice. My concern was the lack of a cohesive focus to find a cure. I wanted a definitive course, I wanted strong leadership, I wanted to know the solution. So, I did what any normally crazy supportive co-survivor would do... enlisted for an ironman.
