Backstory

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2008. It was caught early. Aggressive bilateral mastectomy was the choice. My concern was the lack of a cohesive focus to find a cure. I wanted a definitive course, I wanted strong leadership, I wanted to know the solution. So, I did what any normally crazy supportive co-survivor would do... enlisted for an ironman. Missed the ride

5:15 depart time for a group ride, missed it by 3 minutes and chased in a random direction following a general rule of thumb... head into the wind riding out and with the wind riding in. Never saw any riders, but it was worth the effort... 20 mph gusts riding solo... may not be too different from Florida. Only 1 hour, but will take all I can get at this time. I will be starting the 24-week to the race plan in the next few weeks... trying to get the base established.
