Backstory

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2008. It was caught early. Aggressive bilateral mastectomy was the choice. My concern was the lack of a cohesive focus to find a cure. I wanted a definitive course, I wanted strong leadership, I wanted to know the solution. So, I did what any normally crazy supportive co-survivor would do... enlisted for an ironman. American Idol

A quick 3.4 miles in 27 minutes 2 seconds with an average heart rate of 156. Finally broke the 8 minute per mile barrier. Issue with going for endurance is you lose the speed. Somehow it will have to come back. Maybe if I tried to use some type of formal approach to this effort. But, what would be the fun in that?

Mickelson announced today that his wife has breast cancer and that he will be leaving the tour. Thoughts and prayers.... Psalm 103:1-5

I am contemplating the eradication of carbs to see if that helps my effort. Sitting at a stout 193. Way too much to carry. These are the times that I start thinking.. hey a little weight gain 3000 and I can push to 200 and enter the clydesdale class. Legit-class for those not familar with the sport. Did it once, kicked a lot of a$$ and then felt guilty because there were really big-guys who were struggling. Ever since then, I have avoided that class. But you never know...desperate times may call for despearate measures.

American Idol really has no place in this post. It just happened to be on TV and Cameron likes the show. Give me Dino...
