Alright, two days before the first event of the year. Meal was 2 Budweiser Selects and some orzo with vegetables. Toss in a couple free-ocean shrimp and that was it. Oh, and a few left-over chicken nugget pieces (Cameron).
Just in case you were wondering, the best time to load up is two days before an event. The nerves don't usually set-in by then, so you eat well and keep everything in check.
On the positive side, rode the bicycle for 1hr30m yesterday. Not much of a heart rate average, maybe 135.
No workout. No wetsuit (water is 65 degrees). Still no water. Don't even have the pedals on my bicycle yet.
Time to crack open another
"tall cool one, and I'm built to please ..."
Backstory
My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2008. It was caught early. Aggressive bilateral mastectomy was the choice. My concern was the lack of a cohesive focus to find a cure. I wanted a definitive course, I wanted strong leadership, I wanted to know the solution. So, I did what any normally crazy supportive co-survivor would do... enlisted for an ironman.
