Lesly's group met on Monday. Great group based on my brief interaction with the members. Focused on discussion, support, and fun... at least my perception. Lots of smiles at the table.
I spent the time with one of the co-spousal-partner-significant-other-survivor. Grabbed a bite at the mall. I gave Cameron (4-years old) his first taste of high fructose corn syrup. Fresh from a fountain in the form of lemonade. I thought it would be harmless. How wrong could I have been? He ran the length of the mall... twice... in serpentine fashion a la Lightening McQueen in Cars trying to get away from the sheriff. Took an hour or two to come down.
Rest of the evening spent watching a show about the battle for high score on Donkey Kong. Who would have thought? Did you know that the high-score database is kept in Fairfield, IA. Yeah. Go figure. And I wonder why I am not getting into shape for racing.
Four days until the Pigman. Pool opened yesterday. I have realized that I might as well avoid the water at this point in time. Nothing to be gained and everything to lose. Too close to race time. Realization that I am not fit enough to move quickly.
Stopped by the salon today to do a pink-test on the hair. It will prove dificult without going to a blond stage first, then to pink. Even with the high-power 'stains' that are available for hair. So, I am planning on trying latex paint for the Pigman on a braided 'test strip' to checkout the result. Photos will be posted.
Getting ready to head-out on a run now to see if the legs have any pep in them for race weekend. Going to do the same for the bike tomorrow.

Backstory
My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2008. It was caught early. Aggressive bilateral mastectomy was the choice. My concern was the lack of a cohesive focus to find a cure. I wanted a definitive course, I wanted strong leadership, I wanted to know the solution. So, I did what any normally crazy supportive co-survivor would do... enlisted for an ironman.
