Another 3 hour ride, another 8 pounds lost. Working hard to put them back on with a mix of fat-tire and water. We'll see how the hydration plan works. However, it is a big problem which I need to find a solution to soon. This time was three 18oz water bottles. Going to mix in a re-fill plan next time out to see if that helps... along with forcing myself to drink every 10 minutes or so.
Two days ago, I did get in my bike, but ran into some handlebar problems and the group rolled on without me. Made the repair and got back on the road. No harm, no foul.
Yesterday got in an hour swim later in the evening. Also a 1hour bike. Things are going, though not as planned, but going.
Met briefly with the hair salon for the dreadlocks today. I have another meeting in a couple weeks. Plan to approach work about the situation, see if I can get some lee-way to put them into plan (sans pink) sooner then later.
Lesly is doing good and in positive spirits. Downers every now and then, but par for the course. Looking forward to that year-marker.
Backstory
My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2008. It was caught early. Aggressive bilateral mastectomy was the choice. My concern was the lack of a cohesive focus to find a cure. I wanted a definitive course, I wanted strong leadership, I wanted to know the solution. So, I did what any normally crazy supportive co-survivor would do... enlisted for an ironman.
